Big Numbers - Big Winners

March 11, 2022

The Congress approved final, FY 2022 funding discretionary funding of the Federal Government, with more than $1.5 trillion allocated among all Federal agencies. This is about an $88 billion, 6% increase over FY 2021.

Defense receives about $42 billion of the discretionary funding increase, with all other agencies (i.e., non-Defense) receiving the remaining $46 billion of increases.

Within the non-Defense discretionary funding increases, there are a lot of 'winning' budget line-items.
